La Mirada, CA ... Home to the movie famous trains, BNSF's La Mirada Yard with rails from both BNSF and Union Pacific running through the city, La Mirada is a great place to catch railroad action. This provides the setting for great local switching trains.
BNSF's La Mirada yard and yard house: The BNSF stations the engines and train cars here for the La Mirada locals which run as far east as the Tustin / Irvine area.

Union Pacific's Santa Ana Branchline
The Buena Park local was photographed working on Saturday afternoon with UPY 641 UPY 1144 paused in La Mirada on the UP Santa Ana branchline awaiting the throw of a switch to line them up for the reverse move towards the tie down spot.
